Zenit St Petersburg Soccer
Zenit St Petersburg is a Russian soccer club based in St. Petersburg, Russia. The club was founded in 1925 and is affectionately known as Blue-White-Sky Blues. Zenit play their home games in the Petrovsky Stadium, located in St. Petersburg which has a capacity of 21,570. The club is owned by oil company Gazprom which has inititated the task to upgrade and invest the club. Since the change of ownership Zenit managed to impress in European competitions.
Zenit's home strip is mainly white with dark blue touches on the shoulders while their away jersey is mainly dark blue. The third uniform is an all-sky blue uniform.
Zenit have managed to win the Russian Premier League in 2007 and through this success, the club took part in the UEFA Cup which they managed to win after beating Rangers in the final and then went on to beat World Club Champions Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup to lift the coveted European soccer trophy for the first time in their history.
