Wigan Athletic Soccer
Wigan Athletic FC is an English soccer club based in Wigan, England. The team was founded in 1932 and is affectionately known as Latics. The team plays its home games in the JJB Stadium, Wigan, which currently has a capacity of 25,138. Wigan have been playing in the Premier League Division continously since their promtion from the soccer League in 2005. The club in fact, is currently the youngest team due to their late formation date, to be playing in the Premier League.
Wigan's uniform colours are mainly royal blue and white striped home jerseys with Royal Blue shorts. Wigan's away uniform is currently lime jerseys with black touches and black shorts.
Wigan's Roll of Honour includes soccer League Third Division Winners in 1996/97 and winners of the soccer League Trophy in 1985 and 1999. Wigan managed to finish the 2005/06 edition of the soccer League Cup as Runners-up. In 2004/05, the Latics finished second place in the Championship to gain promotion to the Premier League.
