Villareal FC is a Spanish soccer club playing in the top tier of Spanish Footbal, in the Primera Liga. The club is affectionately known as the Yellow Submarine. Villareal play their games at the Estadio El Madrigal in Villareal which has a capacity of 25,000. After the finish of the 1997-98 season, Villareal won promotion to the La Liga but after one season the club were relegated to the Segunda Division once again but then again, the club won promotion back to the La Liga.
Villareal's home uniform is an all-yellow uniform with yellow jerseys, shorts and socks. Their current away strip is on the other hand an all-light blue uniform featuring light blue jerseys, shorts and socks.
Villareal's Roll of Honor is slightly poor due to their only recent improvement in performances. The club though managed to finish runner-up in the 2007-08 season of the La Liga. The team also won the UEFA Intertoto Cup twice in 2003 and 2004.
