United States Soccer
The United States soccer team is controlled by the US Soccer Federation and this forms part of the CONCACAF Federation. The team is nicknamed the Yanks. USA's highest ever place in the FIFA World Ranking was 4th place in April 2006 while their lowest was in 1997 when they ranked 35th place. Their current FIFA Ranking is 20th place. Their most prolific scoring striker is currently Landon Donovan who has scored 37 goals for the nation while Cobi Jones is the player who has been capped the most playing 164 matches.
Their home soccer jersey is mainly white with thin horizontal red stripes featuring on the front of the jersey with a blue collar and sleeves. On the other hand, the USA away uniform is an-all grey jersey with a red collar and red sleeves.
United States' best ever World Cup finish was in 1930 when they finished in third place. They also won the CONCACAF Championship and CONCACAF Gold Cup four times with the last one being won in 2007.
