Scotland are one of the four national teams from the UK. They are currently ranked 32 in FIFA's world rankings. Scotland and England are the oldest national football teams in the world. The two countries contested the first ever international football match on 30 November 1872. The match ended in a goalless draw. All eleven players who represented Scotland that day played for Glasgow club Queen's Park. Over the next forty years, Scotland played matches exclusively against the other three Home nations; England, Wales and Ireland.
Scotland have qualified for the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Football Championship several times, but have never progressed beyond the first stage of a tournament. The 1883-84 season saw the formation of the British Home Championship, Scotland have won the tournament 41 times, sharing it 17 of those times. Kenny Dalglish holds the record for Scotland appearances, having played 102 times. Scotland's top goalscorers are Denis Law and Kenny Dalglish, both scoring 30 goals.
Scotland play their home games at Hampden Park in Glasgow which has a 52,000 capacity. The attendance record is 149,415 which was set by the Scotland v England match in 1937. Scotland traditionally wear dark blue jerseys with white shorts and dark blue socks, the colours of the Queens Park team who represented Scotland in the first international, although the colour of shorts and socks have varied. The uniforms are currently made by Diadorra and thier current away colours are white.
