Rangers Soccer
Rangers FC is a Scottish soccer club based in Glasgow, Scotland. The team was founded in 1873 and are affectionately known as Gers and Light Blues. They play their home games at the Ibrox Stadium which currently has a capacity of 51,082. In order to avoid any confusion, on a European level, the club is known as Glasgow Rangers. The club's fiercest rivals are the other Old Firm team, Celtic FC.
Rangers' traditional colours are royal blue, white and red. The club's current home uniform is mainly royal blue with white touches on the sides, complemented with white shorts. Their away uniform is mainly white with a royal blue and red stripe on the top of the jersey.
Rangers' Roll of Honour sees them Champions of Scotland for a record 51 times. The club won the Scottish Cup for 32 times and the League Cup 25 times. In the 2007-08 edition of the UEFA Cup, Rangers eliminated Greek hopefuls Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen, Sporting Lisbon and Fiorentina on their way to losing the final against Russian stronghold Zenit St Petersburg 2-0.
