Red Bull New York is a male American soccer team who were founded in 1995. Following the team’s fantastic run to the 2008 MLS Cup final, hopes were high for Red Bull New York in 2009. However, a terrible campaign saw the club finish with only five victories and 21 points overall, the lowest of any team that season.

New York Red Bulls 2010 home jersey

The new 2010 New York Red Bulls home jersey is predominately white with red trims on the sleeves and a red round neck collar with a white button strip. Manufacturers Adidas place their red logo in the top right of the jersey whilst the three traditional red stripes run down the shoulders and sleeves. The club badge is situated in the top left and sponsors “Red Bull” place a huge yellow and red picture logo across the centre of the jersey.

Red Bull New York is a American Soccer team who were founded in 1995 and were one of the teams to participate in the MLS debut season back in 1996 under the name New York Metrostars. In 2006, the team was sold to Red Bull GMBH resulting in their playing name being changed to New York Red Bulls. The club’s best success came in 2008 when they managed to reach the MLS Cup final before losing 3-1 to Columbus Crew. Red Bull New York also contests an annual cup known as the Atlantic Cup against bitter rivals DC United.

The current New York manager is Hans Backe who was recently appointed as Juan Carlos Osorio’s successor in January 2010 is the current Red Bulls manager. Backe has a wealth of managerial experience and has most recently been associated with Sven Goran Eriksson at several clubs including Notts County. The club’s current designated player is Columbian striker Juan Pablo Angel who is the club’s all time record goalscorer with 45 goals.

The team currently have played their home fixtures at the Giants Stadium since 1996. However, the club are planning to move to a new 25,000 capacity soccer stadium known as the Red Bull Arena in time for the beginning of the 2010 MLS season.
