2010/11 Middlesbrough Jerseys

Middlesbrough Soccer

Middlesbrough is a Premier League club founded in 1876 by a cricket team from the same town so that the players could stay fit in the winter months. Middlesbrough went on to become founding members of the Premier League in 1992. They are also known as the Boro. Their current chairman is Steve Gibson, a self-made millionaire with a fortune of approximately £112 million. The club played home games at Ayresome Park for 92 years until 1995, when they moved to their present Riverside Stadium. This arena built in 1994 has a capacity of 35100.

The club's most recent success was in 2004 when they won the League Cup for their first time. More recently, they were runners-up in the 2005/06 UEFA Cup. Middlesbrough's biggest rivals are Newcastle and Sunderland.

Italian manufacturers Errea provide the uniforms for Boro. Their uniforms are sponsored by global navigation satellite systems manufacturers Garmin Sat-Nav. The home jersey is red with a wide white horizontal stripe in the middle. Both the home shorts and the home socks are red. The away jersey is striped in black and blue, and is worn with black shorts and black socks. Interestingly, the material used for Middlesbrough's uniforms is waterproof, using particles of titanium and silver.
