Premier League big spenders Manchester City has revealed their new third jersey that they will wear on several occasions throughout the 2009/10 Premiership season.

David Blanch, Manchester City third jersey designer, said: “The third jersey is something I believe is very special. It’s a modern interpretation of City’s sash design. When I look at the final product, I’m really pleased because it makes such a statement. It stands out from the crowd – globally as well as domestically – in a way we haven’t seen for years.”

The new Manchester City third jersey is predominately white with a black and red combined diagonal sash leading from the top right to the bottom left. Manufacturers Umbro place their yellow and black logo in the top right of the jersey inside the sash pattern. The club badge is situated in the top left whilst sponsors “Etihad Airways” place their much smaller logo just below the club badge in an odd position for a sponsor. The overall effect of the jersey is to keep it looking clean yet classy at the same time.
