Juventus FC is an Italian soccer club based in Turin. The club was founded in 1897 and through its 112 year old history the club has managed to become one of the most successful European clubs. The club is affectionately known as I Bianconeri and La Vecchia Signora. The club spent all its past history competing in the Serie A except for the 2006-07 season when they were relegated to the Serie B due to the Calciopoli scandal. The club played the season in Serie B but managed to acquire promotion back to the Serie A and got back their Champions League place within 2 years of absence. The club plays its home matches in the Stadio Olimpico di Torino which has a capacity of just over 25,000. The club is currently re-building the previous Stadio delle Alpi into a new stadium.
Juve's home original colours were pink soccer jerseys and a black tie. This was infact only because of an error whereby the wrong uniforms were sent to the Bianconeri. The club then changed their uniforms to the current traditional black and white stripes. Juve's current home strip is striped black and white home jerseys and a gold away jersey (2008-09).
Juventus are considered as the most successful club in Italy and have won 29 Serie A titles on pitch, 9 Coppa Italia, 4 Italian Super Cups and 1 Serie B title. On a continental level, Juve won the Champions League 2 times even though they managed to arrive in the final a total of seven times. The Old Lady won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1983-84, 3 UEFA Cups and 2 European Super Cups. In 1985 and 1996, the club won the Intercontinental Cup while in 1973 the club finished as runners-up.
