Holland Soccer
The Dutch national soccer team is controlled by the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) and forms part of the UEFA confederation. The team's best ever FIFA Ranking was 2nd place in November 1993 while their lowest ranking was in May 1998 when they ranked 25th place. Their current FIFA Ranking (Feb. 2009) is 3rd place. The most capped Dutch player is Edwin van der Sar having played 130 matches while the most prolific striker Holland has ever seen was Patrick Kluivert who scored 40 goals.
The Dutch soccer team is nicknamed the Oranje (Oranges) and their home uniform is mainly orange jerseys with white shorts. Their away jersey is light blue with the flag of Holland running horizontally on the front of the jersey. Their current soccer jerseys are manufactured by Nike.
Holland's best ever World Cup run was in 1974 and 1978 when they reached the final of the competition while on a European level, the team managed to lift the European Championship in 1988
