Germany Soccer
Germany's national soccer side is controlled by the Deutscher Fußall-Bund and is a member of UEFA. The national team is currently second in the FIFA World Rankings after finishing runner-up at Euro 2008 and has never been lower than 23 in the world. Germany's first international game was played on the 5th April 1908 against Switzerland, a game which the German's lost 5-3. Germany's biggest ever win was 16-0 against Russia, while its biggest loss was by a score of 9-0 against England amateur.
Germany have made 16 appearances in the World Cup and 9 Euro appearances. The German's have won an impressive 3 World Cups and 3 Euro's and are deemed as one of the top three nations by titles. The record holders for Germany are Lothar Matthäus with 150 caps, and Gerd Müller with 68 goals. Stadiums used for home matches regularly alternate between Berlin (42), Hamburg (32), Stuttgart (29) and Hanover (24).
Germany's soccer jerseys are manufactured by Adidas. The home uniform is white in colour with black details and a design including the DFB logo, whilst the away jersey features a red colour with a black vertical stripe and gold details.
