Galatasary SK is a Turkish soccer club based in Istanbul, Turkey. The club is recognized as the most successful Turkish club in its history having been founded in 1905. The club plays its home games in the Ali Sami Yen Stadium, Istanbul which has a capacity of over 25,000 seats.
Galatasary have won 17 Turkish Super League Championships and 14 Turkish Cups. On a continental level, the club have also won the UEFA Cup in 1999-2000 when they beat Arsenal on penalties after a 0-0 draw. That season, Galatasary managed to win the treble after lifting the Turkish soccer league and the Turkish Cup.
Galatasary ‘s uniform colours are light orange and maroon red for their home jersey while their away uniform is mainly white with light orange and maroon red strips on the uniform. The club is also affectionately known as Cim Bom and Aslanlar (lions), while most commonly through Europe, the club is simply known as Gala.
