The team's highest ever FIFA Ranking was first place during the period May 2001 to May 2002 while their lowest FIFA Ranking was 25th place in April 1998. Their current FIFA soccer ranking (Feb. 2009) is 11th place. The team's most capped player is Lilian Thuram who was capped a record 142 times while Thierry Henry leads the top scorer list at 48 goals.
France are nicknamed Les Blues and their uniforms are manufactured by adidas. For their home games, they play in blue jerseys and white shorts while their current away strip is red jerseys and dark blue shorts.
France managed to win the 1998 edition of the soccer World Cup when they in fact hosted the tournament while they won the 1984 and 2000 edition of the European Championship. Les Blues also won the 2001 and 2003 edition of the Confederations Cup
