Fiorentina Soccer
Fiorentina is an Italian based club coming from the city of Florence. The club was founded as AC Fiorentina in 1926. Due to financial problems, the club was kicked out of the Serie A, founded again as ACF Fiorentina in 2002 and since then the club has managed to come back to top Italian football playing in the Serie A and putting in strong performances such that they managed to compete in the Champions League edition of 2007-08.
Fiorentina are affectionately known as Viola due to their uniform colours. Fiorentina play their home games in the Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence, which has a capacity of 47,282. The Viola play their home games in an all purple uniform. Fiorentina's away uniform is currently a simple white jersey.
Fiorentina managed to win the Serie A title twice, the last one being lifted in 1968-69. Further more, they won the Coppa Italia 6 times, the Italian Super Cup once. On a European level, the club managed to finish as runners-up to the 1956-57 edition of the UEFA Champions League while they managed to lift the 1960-61 edition of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
