Columbus Crew Soccer
Columbus Crew are a football team based in Colubus, Ohio, that play in the American MLS. The Columbus Crew were a founding member of Major League Soccer in 1996.
Columbus Crew won their first trophy in 2002, winning the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, beating Los Angeles Galaxy in the Final. The win earned the Crew a a place in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup 2003, where they were eventually knocked out by Monarcas Morelia in the Quarterfinals. Columbus Crew are the Current MLS Cup champions ad it is the only time they have one it. They have also won the MLS Supporters' Shield twice and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup once.
The team played all of their home games at Ohio Stadium from 1996 to 1998.From 1999, the Crew playall of their home MLS matches in the newly built Columbus Crew Stadium, the first soccer specific stadium for a top flight team in the United States. The Stadium cost $28.5 million and has a capacity of 22,555. The Team uniforms are made by Adidas and the home jersey is mostly yellow and the current away jerseys are yellow and black.
