Chicago Fire was founded in 1997 on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire. The club was created two years after the start of the MLS and became an instant success winning the treasured ‘double' (MLS & U.S. Cups) in its first season. It followed up on the amazing start with 6 straight playoff appearances and 3 additional U.S Cups (2000, 2003, and 2006).
The Fire played at Soldier Field from 1998-2006 winning all of their titles at the 71000 capacity stadium before moving to the purpose built Toyota Stadium in 2007 with a capacity of 20000.
Chicago's jerseys have been designed by Nike and Puma with Adidas holding the current deal as supplier. The home jersey design has stayed the same throughout the clubs 12 year history with the jersey being red in colour with a single white horizontal stripe on the chest originally reading fire and since 2008 Best Buy (sponsor). The club logo features the Florian's cross with a big C in the middle with team colours and name featuring on the outside.
