The Brazilian national football team is controlled by the Confederacao Brasileira de Futebol, and forms part of the CONMEBOL confederation, which includes all South American countries. The Brazil national team played its first match on the 20th September 1914 against eternal rivals Argentina, a match which they lost 3-0. Brazil is one of the strongest football nations in the world. They participated in each and every edition of the World Cup starting in 1930, meaning a total of 18 competitions. The Golden Era of the club was between 1958 and 1970, when the great Pele graced the Brazilian squad. The present coach is the Brazilian Dunga, while the current record cap holder is Cafu with 142 appearance.
Nike manufactures the uniforms for Brazil. Ever since 1954, the traditional colours of the home uniform have been yellow and green for the jersey, blue for the shorts and white for the socks. The current home jersey continues the tradition of this great football nation. The away uniform has a blue jersey, complemented by white shorts and white socks.
