Bolton Wanderers Soccer

Bolton Wanderers Are an English club based in Bolton, Lancahire and currently play in the English Premier League. The club were founded in 1874 as Christ Church FC but changed its name to Bolton Wanderers in 1877. Bolton were one of the 12 founder members of the Football League, which formed in 1888. Having remained in the Football League since its formation, Bolton have spent more time in the top flight than out of it.

Bolton have won the FA Cup four times, Their last major trophy coming in 1958 and have spent the highest number of seasons in the top flight without winning the title. At the end of the 1986-87 season, Bolton Wanderers suffered relegation to the Fourth Division for the first time in their history but in 1995 they regained top-flight statusafter a 15 year absence. Bolton were relegated on goal difference at the end of the 1997–98 Premiership campaign and after various attempts to regain promotion to the Premier League, were promoted back after beating Preston North End in the play-off final where they have remained in the Premier League since.

The club have played at various gronds during their 135 year history. The club spent 102 years playing at Burnden Park, but relocated after Burnden park was too difficult to convert to an all-seater ground, to the more modern all-seater Reebok stadium with a capacity of 28,723 in 1997. Bolton Wanderers' home colours are white jerseys with navy trim, worn with navy shorts and white socks, the club have alternated with using white shorts and hite socks. The current away colours are yellow with navy trim. The club badge consists of the initials of the club in the shape of a ball, with red and blue ribbons beneath.
