2009/10 Chelsea Home Jersey

Chelsea FC has exclusively revealed images of the club’s new home jersey on their website: www.chelseafc.com.

The Premier League club launched the new images along with the slogan “Every team needs a 12th man”. The campaign is somewhat appropriate considering Chelsea have their biggest match of the season at home to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter final coming up.

The uniform is currently available to pre order and will be released to general sale on 14th May 2009.

The jersey is almost completely blue with different shades used throughout. The main feature of the uniform is the brest plate in a darker shade of blue at the top of the jersey. Manufacturers Adidas place their white logo in the top right plate whilst the club crest sits within the plate in the top left. Adidas also place their three white stripes running all the way down the arm. However, they are intercepted by what looks to be a shoulder pad. Sponsors Samsung run right across the middle of the jersey in a white typeface whilst the collar is completely blue round neck with a zip running down the torso.

All in all, the uniform takes brave new steps with an innovative design and a different style of jersey to the previous ones. The colours and tradition remain the same and Adidas have succeeded in taking the Chelsea home jersey forward into the modern era.
