San Jose Earthquakes Away jersey

The San Jose Earthquakes uniform for the 2009 MLS season is the same as the one worn during the previous campaign. The jersey is predominately white with light blue piping down both sides. Manufacturers Adidas display their black logo centrally below the collar whilst the three traditional black stripes run down both shoulders. The club badge lies slightly below the manufacturer’s logo on the left side. The Earthquakes do not have a sponsor for their away jersey so just have Earthquakes running across the centre in a blue typeface. All in all, the uniform feels relatively plain and the inclusion of more blue may have made the jersey feel slightly busier.
San Jose Earthquakes
As one of the founding members of the MLS, San Jose Earthquakes were seen to be one of the weaker teams throughout the late 1990’s finishing way outside of the play off positions in all but one season. However, in 2001 the hiring of Frank Yallop made a significant difference as Earthquakes romped to a MLS Cup victory beating arch rivals LA Galaxy in the final.
The team won the MLS Cup again in 2003 before Yallops departure. 2006-07 saw Earthquakes take a two season hiatus after the failure to secure a new soccer specific stadium. Nevertheless, they returned to the MLS in 2008 with Frank Yallop back as head coach but failed to make the MLS play offs that year.
