2009 Kansas City Wizards Home Jersey
Kansas City Wizards is a male American soccer team who were founded in 1995. The Wizards have had a poor start to the 2009 MLS season by losing both of their games by one goal margins to Toronto FC and Colorado Rapids.
Kansas City Wizards Home Jersey

The Kansas City Wizards home jersey for the 2009 MLS season is the same as the one worn for the 2008 campaign. The design, which is near identical to the New England Revolution home shirt, features a predominately light blue background with dark panels on the sleeves and down the sides. Adidas are the manufacturers and provide their logo underneath the collar and the three stripes running down the shoulders in a white typeface. The Wizards don’t have a sponsor for their uniform so quite simply run “Kansas City” in a firm bold font across the middle.
Overall, there is nothing particularly striking about the jersey and many would say it’s far too simplistic. On the other hand, blue is a popular color which ensures that by not overcomplicating things, the uniform will be popular with fans.
Kansas City Wizards
Since their formation in 1995, Kansas City Wizards have had a steady if unspectacular history. The year 2000 will go down as their most successful season as they managed to win the MLS Cup. In their 13 seasons in the MLS, Kansas City have only failed to reach the play offs four times. However, the majority of play off appearances has seen the team eliminated in the quarter or semi finals.
2008 saw Kansas City sign their first designated player in Argentina’s experienced striker Claudio Lopez. Lopez remains at the club for the 2009 season although his contract has been renegotiated to take him below the wage cap required. Lopez remains a key player for the Wizards and was nominated for MLS newcomer of the season in 2008.
