The Colorado Rapids home uniform for the 2009 MLS season is predominately maroon. Manufacturers Adidas use a light blue color for their central logo and three traditional shoulder stripes to help blend with the maroon. The club badge is positioned just below to the right of the Adidas logo whilst the sponsor position is simply filled by the word “Rapids” in a light blue wide typeface.
All in all, this jersey is fairly dull as there is not enough of a second color to help bring life to the uniform.
Colorado Rapids
During the thirteen years that Colorado Rapids have competed in the MLS, they have failed to win any honours. The Rapids best year came in 1997 when they lost in the final of the MLS Cup. That was the only season they have got past the semi final stage. In fact, Colorado Rapids have never finished any higher than 3rd in their regional division. The Rapids also failed to qualify for the play offs during the 2008 season.
Colorado Rapids are owned by Arsenal Director Stan Kronke and play their home games at theĀ 18,766 capacity Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
